Connecting Kennebunk Lower Village & Kennebunkport Maine is the Mathew J. Lanigan Bridge. It once was a "bobtail swing bridge" but it was redone in 2017 & it swings no more.
Have to say, it was very cool - kinda like icing on the cake around here!
Kennebunk Lower Village is an awesome place - a favorite place. Our band played oftener years on end at a place called The Pilot House! It was an outdoor gig - lots people would gather - friends & tourists, passerby's & party outdoors & eat great food & dance to the music. I took this pic on one of our breaks. The connection to the area for me is huge - as is the connection between the Kennebunkport & Lower Village. Both places are magical - still quaint for the most part and of course surrounded by all kinds of water. The area is so rich in history - gorgeous old homes line summer street, ocean ave - everywhere. The Port is lined with local art shops - restaurants serve the most delicious & fresh seafood & and here it's mostly garden to table.I will always love it here - I think I've lived here before. And for sure I will always be grateful for our gigs along the river's edge - the high energy on a sunny day. It doesn't get much better than that!
